Nocturne Alcohol Aftershave Splash

Nocturne Alcohol Aftershave Splash

Nocturne is a seasonal scent for Autumn and will be discontinued on December 31st.

Anyone who’s been there will tell you that, in New England, Autumn is the best time of year. The trees turn vivid colors, the weather becomes perfectly brisk, and the apple and corn crops are harvested and made into all kinds of wonderful foods to enjoy. The scent of woodsmoke fills the air and fallen leaves litter the ground, crunching pleasantly underfoot wherever you go. It’s a wonderful time, and at the center of it all is the cider mill.
Cider mills are incredible places. The smell of apples suffuses the walls and a wood fire usually burns in the corner. Trays and trays of apple cider donuts fill the tables and counters next to carafes of hot cider and coffee. The buildings smell wonderful and we wanted to capture that smell in soap form. After long experimentation, we blended the scents of apples, newly fallen leaves, woodsmoke, benzoin, and the faintest touch of cinnamon to create a slightly smokey, faintly spicy, wonderful scent perfect for the crisp, clear days of Autumn.

Net wt. 3.5 fl oz

Shake aftershave into your palms (we recommend an amount about the side of a quarter) and rub them together for 3 seconds. Rub your palms over your freshly shaven skin. There may be a mild sting upon initial application, but your face is about to look, feel, and smell awesome. We know you can handle it.
Denatured Alcohol, Hammamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Distillate, Aqua, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Fragrance, Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Extract, Panthenol, Sodium Lactate

A Fall Favorite!

Nocturne is a complex combination of wood smoke, apple and less immediately identifiable scents (check the description). The scent is very smoke forward and the apple, which many seem to think will be the primary note, is definitely a secondary note. While I might agree that there could be a touch (and only a touch, mind you) more apple in this fragrance, this is a wonderful addition to anyone's shave den, particularly in the fall and winter months. I am generally not a huge fan of smoky fragrances but Nocturne's complexity and secondary notes that compliment the smoke instead of simply reinforcing it make this one of my new favorites. B&M's aftershaves are some of my favorites in my shave den for both quality and the longevity of the scent. Every B&M aftershave that I've used tends to retain a relatively strong fragrance throughout the day and, delightfully, tend to wake back up the next morning during my morning shower. While certainly not to be compared to an EdT, these aftershave splashes have a level of fragrance that is hard to match.

Love this Stuff!

Love the sent.It has a real nice smokey sent to it.

Be forewarned: This ASL is like liquid smoke the first time you use it. But, that's just the base note of an interesting story.

Wow! You know, liquid smoke in your cooking tools & spices? But, if you've used the Nocturne shaving soap first, you're building a story combining these two together. The shave was strong notes of apple fruit packed in crates and stored in the root cellar ready for the winter. The aftershave adds the smoke you smell after cleaning the orchard of dead wood and leaves and a cool morning fire / smolder of the leaves wafting into the air. Just remember the first moments are like having walked through the smoke stream and having your clothing, face, and sinuses filled with that odor. It tones down as the morning continues. One more thing, this is the first "aftershave" that I've considered using a very smallish splash Before shaving, to write the story with a bit more complexity from the start.
