Barrister's Reserve® Waves Shaving Soap
- Fresh, modern scent that pairs with any cologne or smells terrific flying solo.
- Absolute hard water tolerance.
- Incredibly creamy, dense lather
- Superlative slickness
- Excellent post-shave feel
Net Wt. 4 oz, Made in the USA
Wet your shaving brush well, then swirl it around the jar for about 25 swirls or until a rich, creamy lather is formed. Continue building the lather by adding water (lots of it) and swirling your brush either on your face or in a lathering bowl. Shave, rinse, and spend your day feeling great.
Note: This soap is very soft and may be easy to overload. If the lather seems thin or glue-like, continue to add water until a dense, creamy lather forms.
Even with my poor wet-shaving skills
I used one of the Reserve samples (i.e "Waves") I had bought. It was my first use of a Barrister and Mann shaving soap. In spite of my not having effectively whipped up a lather that would demonstrate the soap's qualities, I got a very nice shave. Well slick and no nicks, even with an old Astra DE blade. After the shave, I applied an alum block and some Witch Hazel, as that's my routine, in general. No aftershave or balm. My face feels fine and very well hydrated, in spite of my not having done the shave soap justice. Next time, I will, and I expect to get even better results.
My most used Reserve soap
It goes with everything! A modern aquatic in the best way.
Barrister & Mann Waves
I own all Reserve soaps except Reserve Original. Waves has quickly become my absolute favorite. I'll spare the extensive review on the quality because if you're reading this than you probably already know this soap is 10/10 in regards to slickness, cushion, post shave, etc. The B&M Reserve base is the fines I have ever used and is all I use now, (and I own about 25 soaps). Onto the scent, Waves is based off of the scent of my younger days in the late 90's early 2000's; Gilette Wild Rain. This scent is amazing. I own about 40 fragrances and Wild Rain/Waves is in my top 5. It's a seductive, manly, locker room, athletic scent from the late 90's. I am 27 years old and this is probably my most suited soap and aftershave for my lifestyle personally. I graduated college last week and used Waves for my graduation day shave. And at my celebration dinner i was complimented by two different women that I smell incredibly good. Waves speaks for itself. Well done Will. I will buying the EdT this week.
I really do like this soap, it lathers perfectly and is slick as all B and M soaps are but the scent isn't exactly how id pictured it (still great though). Be sure to keep in mind this is more of a matter of my personal taste and while I will most definitely enjoy this soap on occasion in the future it' s not my go to soap at the moment.
As expected, the performance was top notch! The scent itself is a refreshing aquatic with a surprising potency and longevity.
