Notably amongst soap companies who cater to the shaving world, Barrister and Mann has been rather picky about producing tobacco fragrances. It's not that we don't like them; Will still tells stories of the wonderful, plummy aroma of a pack of Camel Turkish Blends that he once bought for a Halloween costume. Really, it's because there are just SO MANY interesting things to try that AREN'T tobacco, and we didn't really get to circle back round to it for awhile.

Whew. Glad we got that out of our system. Introducing The Full Measure of Man.

It was inspired by photos of richly appointed libraries, peppered with winged leather armchairs, a glass of fine whiskey, and the smell of aging teak and mahogany wafting from the shelves. Genteel and smooth, the fragrance combines notes of cured tobacco, sandalwood, Mousse de Saxe (whose inky tang suffuses the entire scent like a whispered promise), citrus, vanilla, resins, myrrh, and geranium. This is one of our best "classic" masculine fragrances ever, one to make you feel like enjoying a glass of aged brandy in a bespoke suit before a roaring fire. Simply put, it smells awesome, and so will you. Take advantage of that at your discretion.

Net wt. 4 oz.

Wet your shaving brush well, then swirl it around the jar for roughly thirty seconds or until a rich, creamy lather is formed. Continue building the lather by adding water and swirling your brush either on your face or in a lathering bowl. Shave, rinse, and spend your day feeling great.

Sadly disappointed

Was so excited to try this soap and after shave splash. The branding is perfect. The name is incredible. The packaging is superb and you can tell this is quality. Best looking soap label I’ve come across. However, when it comes down to the scent, I really strongly dislike it. The soap doesn’t have a manly scent like I hoped, it comes off sweet. I never even used it. The aftershave is really a disappointment. It smells like maple to me. I let a few people smell it and they said it smells like waffles and pancakes. I think they really missed the point here scent wise. I now have an unused soap and aftershave I have no idea what to do with. Was really wanting to get into this brand because you can see the level of care and passion they have, but unfortunately my first attempt has turned me off for now.

Has become my absolute #1 scent from B&M! Masculine, rich and complex.

I've never had problems with previous B&M soap bases, but the new Omnibus base is a noticeable improvement over Excelsior. It seemed to whip up into a rich dense lather far faster and easier than Excelsior. It felt great on my face. The scent of FMoM is intoxicating. The dry down is a rich and complex affair that I don't have words in my fragrance vocabulary to describe. I suspect what I love about this scent is the Mousse de Saxe but I'll be ****** if I know how to describe this scent. There is some sweetness to this scent, but as is usual with B&M scents, the sweetness is not over-the-top. The tobacco and Mousse de Saxe are at the forefront of this scent and remain around for the drydown. I can't get enough of this scent and hope for a EdP in the near future.

Onnibus is such a great base! Scent is so masculine. Its probably not for everyone, but I love it.

Love this scent!

I missed out on this stuff last year and was very disappointed. Got it this year and am very happy. The tobacco in this soap is a very pleasant scent.
