As clean and versatile scents go, Cool is refreshingly crisp. Based on a classic Italian barbershop staple, notes of bergamot, lemon, and lavender combine for a bracing, invigorating scent versatile enough to wear with your favorite cologne.

Directions for Use

Wet your shaving brush well, then swirl it around the jar for about 25 swirls or until a rich, creamy lather is formed. Continue building the lather by adding water (lots of it) and swirling your brush either on your face or in a lathering bowl. Shave, rinse, and spend your day feeling great.

Note: This soap is very soft and may be easy to overload. If the lather seems thin or glue-like, continue to add water until a dense, creamy lather forms.

Permanent addition

I have this (Cool) shave soap, along with Bay Rum and Cologne Russe. I think it’s due to the reserve line or soap base, but this one and the cologne russe create the smoothest creamiest lather, unbeatable. I whip the lather in under 3 mins, and have never gotten a nick while using them. This has a really strong scent, strongest of the 3 I have. It smells clean and masculine, it’s my girlfriends favorite scent. When using this I do not need to use any cologne for the day, and this remains subtly on my skin for 6-8 hours. I usually follow up with alum block and barrister and mann unscented aftershave balm.

Fantastic product!

I am really a fan of Floid blue aftershave so I thought I would give Cool a try. Fantastic! You feel like you should after a shave. When you use the soap, aftershave and balm you feel so fantastic! It has just enough coolness to take the edge off of the blade and the balm is like the icing on the cake. Great product! I think the sent is better than Floid blue too!

Light, fresh barbershop scent

Barrister and Mann Cool is a light, fresh barbershop scent, notes of bergamot, lemon, and lavender. The scent of this one is really nice, love it!

Cool soap

I love the Cool scent, and the performance is unbeatable, as I've come to expect from B&M. The scent is a dead ringer for the old Floid Blue splash. I'm nearly finished with a bottle of Floid Blue splash and I have one more 400mL bottle left, so I'll be buying plenty more jars of B&M Cool soap to use with it.

B&M Shaving Soap "Cool" Fragrance

The lather is full and creamy right from container to brush, and on to a shaving mug for further "whipping-up." I use an open-comb safety razor with a heavyweight handle and (usually) a Feather blade; this shaving soap gives great results with that combo. I finish off with an alum block and B&M's Cool aftershave splash, which has a similar, but less intense "tingle" than their Cool balm (I tend to use that one on unshaved skin). I find many products within the B&M range to be excellent, with a real "artisanal" flourish.
