Description

"War is Hell." -General William Tecumseh Sherman

Drawing upon ancient imagery of bloody conflicts and abbatoirs of suffering, The Four Horsemen: War is the strangest and, in some respects, the darkest of the four fragrances. Characterized by the aromas of hot metal and gunpowder laid over the core chypre accord that represents Death, the full fragrance encompasses notes of metal, aldehydes, gunpowder, leather, citrus, resins, clary sage, and amber. The peculiar, unsettlingly clean aroma of ozone and gun oil hangs over the scent of War like smoke on a battlefield, belying the foul, elemental hunger beneath. Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.

Net wt. 4 oz

Directions for Use

Wet your shaving brush well, then swirl it around the jar for roughly thirty seconds or until a rich, creamy lather is formed. Continue building the lather by adding water (lots and lots of it) and swirling your brush either on your face or in a lathering bowl. Shave, rinse, and spend your day feeling great.

Super strong

Just the way I like it! Super slick soap! Nice post shave. Very unique scent! Hard to explain.

Scent is not what i expected

The soap lather is exactly what you want in a shavings soaps. Thick and creamy. Excellent consistency. The scent is not what i expected. The description intrigued me and i gave it a shot. When I first smelled it the scent was striking. After i used it it had a smell i could not place. My wife thought it smelled like a pungent cilantro. Not something I want to smell like all day. I will purchase products from Barrister and Mann again because they are top tier. I will just be more selective in the scents i choose.

Not my favorite

Quality is amazing as always, but the scent is not for me.

The four horsemen war

Wow! This has to be the most horrible scent I have ever tried in a soap. It literally gave me gag reflexes and went straight to the trash. I’ve been a B&M fan for many years but this one is a huge mistake.

Huge miss!

Easily the worst of the 4 horseman set in terms of scent and one of the worst scents i have ever used in 4 years of wetshaving (the omnibus base is great as always). I know the thematic element of war makes this a difficult one to try and stick to, but the end result was just a miss. Was like a strong mix of ozone, metal, rust and a skunk! Also as others have mentioned the scent lingers a long long time. Thank goodness i used a synthetic brush with this one as took some very hot water and dish soap to finally remove the smell.
