Jabón de afeitar Le Grand Chipre

Le Grand Chypre is bright off of the tub with a citrus and floral blend that is lightly sweet and extremely pleasant to my nose. There are so many different notes that swirl together from whiffs off the tub, but when lathering begins, these begin to break down into an herbal melange. The remaining scent is a subtle blend of spice, resinous powder, and citrus. This end note is accentuated and extended by use of the aftershave, with plenty of longevity to last. What I find most interesting is that Le Grande Chypre is spicy, but in a “summery” way. Spice is usually accompanied by heavy, dark notes fitting for colder months, but in this case B&M have managed to combine bright citrus and subtle spice notes with an herbal patchouli in an entirely balanced way. It’s a truly fascinating take on the Chypre-genre, and it is my favorite Chypres scent. It is an all-season soap, but definitely a spring and summer favorite for me.

I can't believe I didn't find this sooner. This soap has an incredibly luxurious feel to it and creates a thick foam for a great application. I've found my brand for life.

La Grande Chypre is another marvelous scent. Le Grande Chypre and Waves are hands down my favorite scents in the Barrister and Mann lineup.

Another perfect mix of scents that come together to create a wonderful earthy, clean, phenomenal profile.

Once again, not overwhelming and not underwhelming.

Today I tried "Le Grand Chypre Shaving", what an experience!

I stumbled upon this product by chance while reading online reviews, and I must say, I wholeheartedly agree with the positive feedback. The shaving soap is simply fantastic!

Lathers easy and lasts during a shave. Good smelling soap. Does not try out your skin and leaves a nice after smell.

Barrister and Mann soaps and aftershave splashes are my favorites. The LGS is a very nice scent, earthy but a little spicy. Becoming one of my favorites. As usual, lather is excellent, slick, and post shave is super!

Easily my favorite soap and scent (although of course I've liked all the others I've bought from B&M).

I love this soap - it is in general rotation all the time for me. The base is (as always) incredibly smooth and soothing. The scent takes me to a high-end resort on a Mediterranean coastline or mountainous lake. This soap, especially in late spring and summer, is (for even just minutes - especially with a Negroni or an espresso) a mini-vacation and a way to elevate any given day. It’s strong as scents go, but in my opinion all the better for it.

A very nice scent to an exceptional shaving soap

I have as of late been trying many of the Barrister and Mann soaps - bought 3 tubs and a handful of samples. Tried the Seville first - felt it lived up to its reputation in performance and the scent. Next went to Lavanille and had the same stellar performance but was blown away by the scent, which I've paired with many different AS. I tried the Cheshire - fantastic scent and I thought 'got to get the AS next time I buy.' Next was LeGrand Chypre - the scent was phenomenal, stunning. I first thought 'I'm not using any other soap ever again. I guess I can give away my collection.' I think if you were to give a master class on soap creation, it would need to center on this soap.

Inspired by smells indigenous to the island nation of Cyprus, Le Grand Chypre ("Leh Grond SHEEP-ruh") combines notes of bergamot, lime, labdanum, oakmoss, and a touch of patchouli to produce an elegant, citrusy heart. We wrapped it in notes of peach, rose, frankincense, cedar, cinnamon, and other supporting smells to create an elegant, slightly fruity, freshly floral design perfectly suited to the refined shaver.

If you're wondering - I don't know B&M and have zero relationship with them other than using the products. I started with a DE in the 70s and came back to it in retirement. I find myself wondering how I shaved all those years with the shite products I was using.

I love this. It's my favorite scent from B&M, it's a pleasant woody smell slightly similar to zingari man's Collab with rogue. I have to say though this one is quite a bit better than ZM's it's less sharp and just all around wonderful and really elevates your shave. I also bought the splash I liked it so much! I definitely reccomend it!

Very interesting scent, the lime stands out to me in this one, but in a very subtle way. The Omnibus base is exquisite. Funny story, I had ordered LGC from Amazon, and the seller had shipped Lavonille. I mentioned it on Reddit twice. Not complaining, just disappointing. Will saw my comment and the first time asked if there was anything he could do. The second time he just DM'd me asking me for my address so he could send me the LGC, which he did. I love it. If you have not tried B&M soaps, do it now.

Generally I don’t like shaving soap; it just doesn't get a good lather for me. The B & M soap changed my mind, it has a great lather and smells good. I plan on using more in the future,

I say that because they both have the same citrus-type backbone - almost like a cola - but LGC just has this amazing floral powdery slap in the face that I absolutely adore.

Nothing extra to report on the omnibus base, just fantastic. The scent is really great; hard to love it as much as Leviathan, but definitely will a regular in the rotation. As far as the notes, I can pick out some of the stated ones, but for some reason, I get an RC Cola vibe from it off the puck? Maybe I'm the only one, but it's definitely interesting and enjoyable.

Second time purchasing Le Grand Chypre. It’s kind of an exotic scent that it really enjoy. The soaps provides a great lather ad all B&M soaps do.

I think this may be the best scent and lather out of all the B&M soaps.

Omnibus … I think almost all is said here. One of the best base in the market for sure. I don’t understand why I was holding back on the scent for such a long time. I am glad I pulled the trigger with my last purchase and I am more than happy with it. This is a classic and bright scent. Good for every day and any day.
