-John Muir

QUICK NOTE:

Customers praised this aftershave balm as "thick and incredibly hydrating" with an "earthy fragrance with just the right hint of blackberry." Most loved the scent and skin-softening properties. One customer noted the pump becomes difficult to use after 3 months as the balm thickens. Generally highly recommended for its non-greasy formula and long-lasting post-shave benefits.

Smells amazing. A little earthier than the shave soap, and slightly less blackberry. I love how supple my skin feels after using it

The scent is great, the lotion is fantastic. The bottle/pump, OTOH...

The scent is nice and not overpowering. My wife likes it, and is key for me. The balm is not greasy and soothes the skin... if you can get it out of the bottle. After about 3 months, it became so thick that it would not flow through the pump. I have to remove the pump, pound the bottle on my hand to get the lotion to the mouth of the jar, then scoop some out. I had been planning on getting the Bay Rum, but I don't know if I will buy any more of this since it is nearly impossible to get to if it isn't used in the first month or so.

Best balm I’ve tried yet!

I’ve tried quite a few aftershave balms on the market. Both artisan and commercial brands. There have been some notable ones in the past. One of my favorites which I now use quite sparingly is B&M’s wonderbalm. It’s an oily balm but the post shave is superior.

When I decided to try the new B&M balms, I was so pleased. Hands down the best yet. Thick and incredibly hydrating. And post-shave is long lasting!

Product works great along with the other 6 B & M aftershaves I use.

Wood aftershave is great with the other 6 B & M Aftershaves I have lined up on the shelf. I would like another 3 to match my 10 mugs bue alas, no room on the shelf for another 3.

Great Woodsy Scent!

I love the scent of the shaving soaps but they don't last all day so I decided to try the aftershave balm to lengthen the aromatic experience. Wow, was I right! Not only do they smell great and last all day, they make my face feel like silk. The Muir(e) Wood scent is a wonderful earthy fragrance with just the right hint of blackberry to offset the mossy undertones. It makes me want to get out in nature all day long!

Smells like mold candy

Not a fan of this scent. Maybe it’s the oak moss but it smells mostly like mold—as if mold and sucrose teamed up to be a flavor. It does do a good job balding my face.

Hi John! Oh no. :( I'm sorry to hear that neither of your purchases was for you. I've refunded your order in full. Please let us know if you need anything and have a great day!

Pleasant scent

I find this balm has a pleasing and mild scent. I did order Leviathan at the same time and that is a very strong scent so my nose is probably muted when I try and smell Muire. Regardless it will most likely be on my reorder list.

Great fall scent

Fall in the redwood region is salmon season. What was a hot day is now a cool evening. Bears have cut paths to the river through thickets of blackberry vines and ground the overripe fruit under paw where it mixes with the ferns and soil. This scent captures that scene for me perfectly.

The balm works wonders! A little goes a long way.
