Strong scent

Very strong scent. Was not a fan of the cologne-like scent.

No, thank you. Not ever.

Man, am I glad I got a sample and not a full tub. While I see people describing this scent as “elegant”, I would describe it as floral, tangy, musty, dusty, stale, old, basement/attic. I’d imagine it smells similar to what the Baron Harkonnen bathed in.

I’ve never wanted to leave a review on a shave soap scent before, but here we are. Maybe I have an underdeveloped sense of smell, maybe my odor receptors aren’t working correctly…but you can put all the fancy descriptive words behind a scent, but that means nothing until you have it under your nose. I would agree with the radiantly retro description, in that it smells like decaying flowers on my grandparents moldy loveseat that’s been left down in the basement right under a leaky water pipe.

Just OK

I really love Seville. I have the shave soap, after shave and cologne. I’ve struggled to find another scent I like as much as Seville. This one is just OK.

Simple elegance

I bought a sample of Fougere Classique because I wanted to get Will's take on the fougere genre since they are one of my favorite scent families. What I discovered was no generic fougere scent, but one with a dash of something different. Maybe it's the patchouli, but it's a deeper scent and it is very elegant. When I use of the sample, which seems like it could take a while since it is a full 1 oz size. I'll be ordering the full tub.

Sample

Great way to try a Soap without buying a whole tub, plenty of Soap for several uses.
