Bay Rum Shaving Soap
Way back in the glory days of salty sea dogs, sailors used rum tinctures of West Indie bay and spices as disinfectants, fragrances, deodorants, and aftershaves. Over time, many famous fragrance and shaving houses adopted the custom and offered their own versions of the classic scent, which proved to be extremely popular with barbers as well.
Barrister and Mann® is proud to offer our own version of a classic Bay Rum. Dispensing with the modern custom of using large amounts of clove, we instead blend real black strap rum with West Indie bay, sweet orange, cinnamon, and benzoin (a vanilla-like resin). Our Bay Rum is a warm, masculine classic, a piece of history, and a favorite for winter, but is well-suited for any time of year.

Least favorite line so far. Scent is very forward with Allspice. Think less bay rum and more pumpkin pie.
The brush is fine given that it's a plastic bristle, though I prefer a natural product by choice. The brown soap Lavanillie isn't my preference. I love the Seville line by far. As usual the order was promptly handled.
Still The Best Bay Rum
I’m a huge fan of Bay Rum and B&M nailed it. This is easily my favorite soap in this category. The performance of this soap is elite in every way as you’d expect from Barrister and Mann. The aftershave is a must try as well. I love it so much I use it with many other soaps. I agree with other who’ve said they really need to make an EDP of this! If you love Bay Rum or have never tried a Bay Rum scent, give it a try!
Nice bay rum scent
Bought this when they brought it back and so happy I did. Nice scent not to light and not to strong. B&M knows what we like. Slick and nice lather. I love it.
One of my Favorite Scents
This was the first product I bought from Barrister and Mann several years ago and am revisiting the scent for the first time since then. I absolutely love the rum/cinnamon combination and the aftershave scent is even better than the soap. They should make a cologne out of this.
