Arguably one of the most famous blends of tea in the world, Earl Grey is believed to be named after Charles, the Second Earl Grey, and was first produced by Charlton & Co. of Jermyn St. in London around 1880. The tea is traditionally flavored with bergamot, a peppery relative of orange from Italy. Its distinctive scent had never been re-created in shaving soap until Barrister and Mann® decided to give it a go.

We blend American clary sage, bergamot, and small amounts of lavender and patchouli to create a very realistic interpretation of the smell of Earl Grey (the tea, not the man). It's our founder's favorite, and we think you'll love it too!

Wet your shaving brush well, then swirl it around the jar for roughly thirty seconds or until a rich, creamy lather is formed. Continue building the lather by adding water (lots and lots of it) and swirling your brush either on your face or in a lathering bowl. Shave, rinse, and spend your day feeling great.

Another unique and fine scent.

I give this one a 5 while at the same time trying to figure out why the scent has a bit of a peanut butter smell.

I love this one because I love Earl Grey tea. Another unique scent that others can’t match.

A very earthy black tea

Cheshire smells very natural, like fresh scooped soil mixed with the scent of black tea coming in afterwards. It's really lovely and the omnibus soap base is the best ever released.

One of My Faves

I have several soaps in my rotation. But this is still one of my favorites! The scent is clean and slightly sweet. B&M soaps always perform great! If you like Bergamot this soap is for you!

This is Earl Grey, and is a must if you like it. This could smell artificial, or overpowering, but it’s a genuine, subtle-enough scent that is perfect on a rainy day. Staple in my rotation and great for work, home, going out. A classic.

Perfect scent for a morning shave

I personally like a cup of earl grey tea in the morning, the pleasant aroma get me going. There are a lot of shave soap out there with a tea scent, but not as my favorite earl grey tea scent from Will. Barrister and Mann has capture the Early gray tea scent and added some citrus notes and what i like to call Barrister and Mann´s DNA, the powdery scent that Barrister and Mann is known fore. To me this is a perfect scent for a morning shave, and it last true out the day.

My overall experience with Barrister and Mann is awesome. Shaving soap is incredible to use. I’ll never go back anything else honestly I use the splash. They all have one of the best scent. I have not tried the after cream. But I’m sure it’s awesome a little pricey but I love it. Thank you Will. I hope next time I’ll get a nice discount lol.

Forgot how much I liked this

I had this classic in my den several years ago and remember liking it a lot but went down the rabbit hole and forgot. I saw the new omnibus base cone out and had to order it and so glad I did. I will always have this one. It smells amazing and the scent lingers in your skin longer than it did before. My wife also loves it. The performance and post are also impressive.
