Lavanille Shaving Soap

Lavanille Shaving Soap
54 |
The vanillin in Lavanille may cause it to discolor animal hair shaving brushes. Use of a dedicated brush or a synthetic-fiber shaving brush is recommended.

Some time ago, Barrister and Mann® had the extraordinary fortune to obtain a sample of the discontinued, leathery perfume base Mousse de Saxe. Armed with only this small sample and historical records of what went into the original, we set out to re-create the famous design by smell alone. After four months of research, formulation, reformulation, and constant refinement, we successfully rebuilt Mousse de Saxe into its original glory. It seemed only fitting that such an achievement should be used to create a soap inspired by some of the greatest masculine fragrances of all time.

We blend our version of Mousse de Saxe with lavender, vanilla, cedar, and the elegant musk Exaltolide to create a dark, leathery, elegant soap unlike anything seen for nearly a half century.

Wet your shaving brush well, then swirl it around the jar for roughly thirty seconds or until a rich, creamy lather is formed. Continue building the lather by adding water and swirling your brush either on your face or in a lathering bowl. Shave, rinse, and spend your day feeling great.

Smells Like Heaven

Heaven to me is the Finger Lakes (NY) in late Spring... the trees are blooming, spring flowers are dying, and the ground is becoming warm and moist. That is what Lavanille smells like to me: rich, earthy, a pungent semi-sweetness that reminds me of dying Lilac. Smells like Keuka Lake in late May... I miss home. The quality of the shave soap is amazing. It provides a rich lather, even with the horribly hard water in AZ. Just a little extra blooming and it's all good. Tucson water will ruin just about any soap, even those made and formulated for hard water. B&M stands tall.

This is a very complex and unique scent. The soap performs as usual. Top of the line

Lavanille Soap and Aftershave Set

The soap is one of the slickest i’ve used, have not cut myself once yet with this soap. The scent is unique, masculine and very long lasting. Out of all of my shave sets, I have found this scent to get the most compliments. Only negative I have about the soap, is the dark color, which can make a mess and is a bit unusual. Overall, a fantastic soap and aftershave.

Outstanding Soap

I really enjoy this soap. I really appreciate the art that Barrister and Mann have worked so hard to improve and make their base some of the best in the industry. I like using this scent when it it is cooler outside and the scent is great for those cooler days. It is dark and warm at the same time and it is great when you keep cathcing that scent throughout the day. I highly recommend this soap!

LOVE this scent!

Outside of the usual awesome B&M performance, I find this scent intoxicating. I had never used it before, but I'm sure glad I tried it. This will be a mainstay in the den for sure!
