Cheshire Shaving Soap

Arguably one of the most famous blends of tea in the world, Earl Grey is believed to be named after Charles, the Second Earl Grey, and was first produced by Charlton & Co. of Jermyn St. in London around 1880. The tea is traditionally flavored with bergamot, a peppery relative of orange from Italy. Its distinctive scent had never been re-created in shaving soap until Barrister and Mann® decided to give it a go.

We blend American clary sage, bergamot, and small amounts of lavender and patchouli to create a very realistic interpretation of the smell of Earl Grey (the tea, not the man). It's our founder's favorite, and we think you'll love it too!

Wet your shaving brush well, then swirl it around the jar for roughly thirty seconds or until a rich, creamy lather is formed. Continue building the lather by adding water and swirling your brush either on your face or in a lathering bowl. Shave, rinse, and spend your day feeling great.

Great Soap

I had bought this and I have been using it for around a month now. It has a nice complex scent to it, very royal smelling. As usual with barrister and man products it is easy to lather, very slick, and amazing smell. The post shave feel is moisturized and nourished skin. I feel like this is one of their most natural soaps in regaurds to smell and feel both during and post shave. As usual Barrister and Mann hit it out of the park with this one. I truly enjoy this company and their products.

King of Tea Scents!

Let me just tell you about the stellar scent of Cheshire, which is a take on Earl Gray tea, the scent notes being tea, Bergamot, and patchouli w/clary sage and lavender. I LOVE this scent so much that it is now my #3 B&M scent behind Leviathan and Seville, pushing Latha Lavanda and Night Music to #4 and #5 respectively. This scent is absolutely intoxicating and the pinnacle of comfort scents for me personally. The packaging is stellar. Cheshire May look like a Xmas soap, and while I did receive it as a Christmas gift, it can be bought year round. If you like Earl Gray tea, get this soap! I do not see many people Turn from this scent and sell it second hand. It is much loved and since it’s in the highly touted glissant base, an elite performing soap, it is the complete package of what a premium shaving soap should be. Pull the trigger on this one!

Beautiful, smooth product. Makes shaving

Beautiful, smooth product. Makes shaving enjoyable again

Great smell, great performance.

I bought this Cheshire because of how much I love Seville. I’d heard they were in a similar vein. I don’t think that’s as true as I was lead to believe. This soap is an entirely different world to me. It’s outstanding work to have created such a realistic Earl Grey tea experience, and the soap base as always is my favorite available.
