Note: Due to an especially rich and stout stock of labdanum absolute that we received some time ago, this particular batch of Fougère Gothique is particularly resinous and dark, both in character and in color.

An eerily smooth, smoky fougère with a distinctly “ashy” character and the dark cast of some ancient atrocity. Timelessly elegant and refined, Fougère Gothique is a fragrance for someone accustomed to the fruits of all-encompassing power.

QUICK NOTE:

This unique, dark earthy fragrance features notes of forest soil, ash, lavender, and mushrooms. Customers said it's "intoxicating" and "truly unique" with exceptional longevity (8-24+ hours). The scent evokes damp forests and fall ambiance. While most love its complexity, some find the mushroom/soil notes too prominent. Performance is described as powerful.

Pronounced "foo-ZHAIR"

My favorite scent of B&M so far. My first fougere too, and i looked it up it's pronounced "foo-ZHAIR". Girlfriend says its a going out at night and getting lucky kinda of scent. I could wear it anytime, but it is kinda more of a cold weather fragrance It's good in every type of product from soap to Parfum. Atleast twice women have told me I smelled good and they seemed to linger a little longer during a hug, always a good feeling. It is a scent that doesn't sound good if you literally describe it. To me it smells like dirt but more accurately cool damp forest soil. Its got ashy notes and spice, and its all wrapped up in a lasting warm buttery kind of smell. Lots of layers that you can pick up at different times. It's not overpowering but I can definitely still smell it on my clothes at the end of the night. I also appreciate its conceptual origin, its supposed to smell like Ferns except ferns are scentless. To me it's what the Redwood forest in California smelled like when I was a kid. Clean fertile soil, lush undergrowth with tons of ferns, decaying wood, cool mist from the coast, a hint of smoke and ash from a past of rejuvenating forest fires, and the comfort of butter melting into a cup of warm oatmeal as you wake up camping beneath the canopy. The best fougere i have tried so far, a level above my other favorite fougere from Zingari Man. If this is in stock you have to try it.

Amazing scent!

Fougere Gothlique is very different to my usual fragrances. I like, not love, fougere fragrances but when i tested it, i was blown away. I knew i needed a bottle for my collection! I’m starting to love lavender and the opening is awesome! That buning wood note also makes this a secretive and highly enjoyable scent. The last few times I’ve had this on, my gf cant stay away!

A great and unique fougere

A great and unique fougere. I have other more classic fougeres and like them too but this has a unique twist and s in regular rotation amongst my fragrances. Highly recommended!

Unique earth scent with extra.

Earthy goodness wafts from this scent with a almost a sweet vanilla or barbershop secondary scent after dry down.A great fall scent that you will either like it or dont like it.Unique in all aspects .

This is a new favorite

This is a new favorite. I love the smell of this as the day wears on. I'm not good at describing fragrances but this has a nice fire ash smell to it which is nice and muted, but definitely there. Additionally, it has some of the same notes as Muir(e) Woods, but those fade quickly leaving behind the aforementioned ash notes. It is a very well rounded set of fragrance notes that all work well together to create a masterpiece. I will often pair this with Muir(e) Woods shave soap and splash. It is a great combo.

Interesting

At first I thought this one smelled familiar. Like something a relative might have worn back when I was a kid, and maybe it's true.
To me that's a good thing. I like nostalgia in fragrances.
This is definitely something from the past, combined with a little something new, in my opinion.
The longer I wore it, the more I enjoyed it.
It's not a freshie, a party boy fragrance, or a "panty dropper".
So what?
It's art.

Nice but not for me

Interesting scent that I used in a sample size. Not my favorite and don't think I'd purchase a full size. I'll stick to classic barber shop scents personally.

Delectably earthy and pungent and truly unique. I have over 500 fragrances and nothing comes even close to this. If it came in a 1 L bottle, I would buy it.

Fougere Gothique EDP

Love this scent! The dark earthiness just hits home for me. It is a strong one though. A couple sprays and I could smell it all day.

My signature cologne!

I initially ordered a small sample bottle, wanting to smell it in person before committing. Immediately after the first spray, I placed an order for the 50 ml bottle. I imagine this scent as something Gomez Addams or Emmrich Volkarin would wear - sophisticated, masculine, and intoxicating.
I'm waiting with baited breath for the release of a matching shaving soap, aftershave, etc. I'll buy them all the moment they're released!

Fantastic Dark Fougere

This is really something special. As a lover of Fougeres, I’ve had the pleasure to try quite a few designer, indie, and niche offerings but there is nothing out there quite like this. It’s very earthy while still having a lot of the characteristics one would associate with a Fougere. It’s def not a daily wear but well worth the pick up if you enjoy this style of fragrance. Perfect for fall and the name does the fragrance justice. Well done!

Fougere Gothique EdP

I wanted to try Leviathan last year but I just wasn't ready as a newer DE shaver. Well I tried it this year (soap, splash, EdP) and I couldn't believe how well it smelled. This gave me the curiosity and desire to seek out another. So I ordered the 50ml Fougere Gothique. I was blown away. Never have I owned sophisticated colognes. This was an amazing first pick! I don't know what exactly this scent reminds me of but it triggers something! It's surprising how long it lasts too, my sweat shirt smelled like it for two days and I only sprayed it on me. Anyway, I took advantage of the sale and bought a 2nd bottle so I can really enjoy it.

A Gothic Way

Dark, almost ancient, my girl loves it and so do I. No reason to say more except this - it's one to have.

Depth I needed

I was looking for something with a subtle, lasting depth. I was nervous that this was too floral at first, but it quickly settles into a deep, earth musk. It develops over eight hours, turning ashier as the day goes on. It grew on my quickly, and I have never had more compliments than on this EdT.

Pacific Northwest

Smells like I'm right next to a slightly damp tree on a coastal forest walk in Washington, super sharp but warm forest , love it!!!!!

Creative

I appreciate the artistry and creativity that went into this fragrance. I also appreciate the insane performance and projection. However, the mushroom note is just too prominent and loud. It’s not for me.

I bought this second bottle just in case there’s world wide shortage of Fougere Gothique Eau de Parfum. I’m ready for the apocalypse. Bring it on.
