A popular haunt for corpse harvesters in the nineteenth century, who emptied its graves to fuel the lectures and research of local medical schools, Boston's Copp's Hill Burying Ground has long been thought haunted by ghouls and vengeful spirits. The murderer John White Webster is said to rest here in an unmarked tomb, and the Lovecraftian tale "Pickman's Model" speculates that the place is a hive of undeath and rot, a gathering ground for restless souls and unrealized doom. There is a rumor that small children around Copp's Hill are still not allowed outside past dark.

Boston is a city of history, home to strange and often gruesome happenings. It was our first home and gave rise to many of our most famous creations. Fragrances of dark animus and warped design.

Taking inspiration from the swamps and churchyards of the city, we combine vetiver, oakmoss, black pepper, cocoa, labdanum, and cedar to produce a deep, cold scent suited to the chilly, bitter days of late October. Gloomy, rich, and perversely elegant, Hallows is a reminder of why men once feared the dark.

Directions for Use

Shake aftershave into your palms (we recommend an amount about the side of a quarter) and rub them together for 3 seconds. Rub your palms over your freshly shaven skin. There may be a mild sting upon initial application, but your face is about to look, feel, and smell awesome. We know you can handle it.

A Fall favorite.

It's not exactly news that "Hallows" really delivers the goods. It seems to be a favorite of many B&M customers, including myself, and for good reason. It surprised me, initially, as the description of it came across in a mysterious fashion, leaving my imagination to run wild, guessing at how it might smell. I'd expected it to be a little....swampier, maybe? But I'm glad that I was wrong because the recipe is pretty much perfect. It IS mysterious and dark, as Fall nights tend to be, and in my mind, "Hallows" is the vapor of shadow. It's in my Fall/Winter rotation without fail.

Honestly, probably my favorite aftershave

This aftershave is unique, rich, and has a depth of scent that is truly evocative of a specific time of year: spooky season. It has a timeless approach to the ephemeral nature of the time. The cocoa, vetiver, and labdanum are the things I pull most out after it dries down leaving a rich, dark, earthy, and subtly sweet smell. For me personally, it reminds me of trick-or-treating in small-town Wisconsin as a child. The cold, damp nights with piles of leaves sweetly decaying punctuating brief stops for candy, namely chocolate with its intoxicating scent, the smell of which overwhelms you as you dump your candy bag out onto the floor to trade with friends. While the cocoa isn't that strong, the strong scent of it evokes those memories for me which is what ended those cool, exciting nights filled with fright. Yeah, it's kinda like that. I simply hope that B&M never stops offering this for the Halloween season. I wouldn't be lying if I also noted that this is my partners favorite scent on me as well, and as such is one I save for October specifically, but also for other special occasions during the autumn.

Great way to finish off a great shave

All hail one of the greatest seasonal scents ever created in artisanal shaving. It’s a deep, dark, and formidable scent, perfect for this time of year. If you’re a man, go for it…if you’re a wuss, don’t!!!

Regarding the formula, the aftershave absorbs quickly and compliments the shave soap perfectly. My only recommendation would be to add a touch of menthol.

Highly recommended.
