Marilyn Eau de Toilette

On June 1, 1926, Norma Jean Mortensen was born.

She survived a brutal childhood (12 foster homes and an orphanage), married young, then got a job working in a munitions factory during WWII, building rockets and bombs for the Radioplane Company. There, she met David Conover, an Army photographer who would change her life. Had she stayed in industry, she would have been a titan. In modeling, her next career, she would have been an icon.

Instead, she moved on to acting, and became Marilyn Monroe.

This Valentine's Day, we pay homage to the Blonde Bombshell herself, the most famous sex symbol of the 20th Century (and likely longer). Monroe famously wore a drop of Chanel No. 5 (and nothing else) to bed, but she also had a fondness for Patou Joy ("the costliest perfume in the world") and the now all-but-lost Floris Rose Geranium. All three were sexy, sensual, intimate things.

Facets of all three have made it into her namesake perfume.

Introducing Marilyn, our sprawling, baroque tribute to Monroe and her legacy. Blended with notes of amber, bergamot, cedar, clary sage, coriander, fir, labdanum, leather, opoponax, tonka, tobacco, sandalwood, vetiver, and ylang ylang, Marilyn is a powdery, cedary descent into what it means to feel stylish and sexy, capped with herbs and florals and underlaid by the promise of desire. Cast in the mold of Golden Age perfumery, the sort of fragrances that surrounded Monroe during her lifetime, Marilyn is the perfect representation of the impact she left behind, tuned for a masculine audience and perfect for the most intimate of company.

30 ml. Assembled in the USA from Domestic and Imported Components.

Directions for Use
Spray it on! We don't recommend spraying fragrance on clothing because it can stain, so our usual method is to spray some on your neck and wrists. We get about 4-6 hours per application.

Gouramand scent that is excellent for evening wear

The scent is pretty sweet. Its the sort of perfume that you probably shouldn't layer with something else because its got so much complexity on its own terms. If you're not looking to get something as rich as Lavender Interrupted, Marilyn might be an excellent stopgap to wear on an evening out.

Completes the set perfectly

This completes the shaving soap set so well and it is a very unique scent that settles in quite nicely while also lasting quite a while, but not too overpowering.

A Delectable Fragrance

I do not usually purchase EdTs but I made an exception in this case. The scent is unbelievable, easily one of my favorite recent B&M scents. I highly recommend it.

Delicious Layers

I have this and the beard oil, and they both have such amazing layering! The rose is such a nice backbone to the other lighter accords, and the amber base is so warm. Definitely one I will be using sparingly to enjoy it as long as possible!
