Zesty and refreshing, yet surprisingly delicate, Kanno is an homage to Yoko Kanno, who almost single-handedly dragged Western jazz and blues into the world of Japanese anime with her remarkable work for the series Cowboy Bebop. With notes of effervescently warm shiso leaf (a relative of mint that features heavily in Japanese cuisine), grapefruit, pink pepper, and geranium, Kanno is a spectacular twist on the classic Eau de Cologne structure, and, of all of the fragrances exhibited at the Maggard Razors Meetup in April 2026, rated highest by those who smelled it blind. One of the most special works we have ever released.

Kanno was authored by perfumer Cecile Hua.

Wet your shaving brush well, then swirl it around the jar for roughly thirty seconds or until a rich, creamy lather is formed. Continue building the lather by adding water (lots and lots of it) and swirling your brush either on your face or in a lathering bowl. Shave, rinse, and spend your day feeling great.

This is such a great soap. Whichever scent you get it in.

Kanno is lightly scented which suits me just fine since I prefer to layer on my scents with other products. I'm in it for the lather and this does not disappoint.

Really enjoyable

This is a fantastic scent. I have all the sessions series and this and Waits are my favourites. Subtle and wearable. Pleasant, natural-smelling and not overpowering. Feels really nicely blended if that makes sense.

Citrus with a Kick

Bright grapefruit, a spark of pink pepper, and warm shiso make this a fresh cologne scent with a twist. Geranium keeps it smooth and polished, while the rich, slick lather makes every shave feel first-class. A real crowd-pleaser with character.

The base is excellent as always. This scent, while a bit more traditional in structure for a b and m scent, it is nevertheless well built and beautiful to shave with and wear after.
