The Scent

Some time ago, Barrister and Mann® had the extraordinary fortune to obtain a sample of the discontinued, leathery perfume base Mousse de Saxe. Armed with only this small sample and historical records of what went into the original, we set out to re-create the famous design by smell alone. After four months of research, formulation, reformulation, and constant refinement, we successfully rebuilt Mousse de Saxe into its original glory. It seemed only fitting that such an achievement should be used to create a soap inspired by some of the greatest masculine fragrances of all time.

We blend our version of Mousse de Saxe with lavender, vanilla, cedar, and elegant musk to create a dark, leathery, elegant soap unlike anything seen for nearly a half century.

Directions for Use
Just unwrap the sample and smush it onto a plate or into your favorite bowl or jar, then lather! Each sample is an ounce of lathery goodness, perfect for travel or just for trying out something new.

Awesome scents!

Lavanille was one of the samples I ordered and let me tell you, these scents are out of this world. Lavanille itself is fantastic, and has a leathery, smoky vanilla/chocolate vibe to it. None of those hit you in the face as it’s extremely well balanced, subtle, well-rounded, and elegant. The scent is hearty, deep, and masculine. The performance is incredible for me as well. Whips up an incredible meringue lather with plenty of life and slip. I use a badger brush and ridged marble bowl for lathering. Works great with any blade I happen to grab. Well done!
